Beta testimonials — real quotes coming soon
I typed "a song about missing home" and 3 lyrics came back that honestly gave me chills. I picked one, and ten minutes later I had a song I was scared to play for my friends because it was too real.
I'm not a singer. My Voice changed that — my song literally sounds like me. I shared it on WhatsApp and my whole family thought I'd secretly recorded in a studio.
I needed background tracks for my videos. Type an idea, switch on instrumental, done. Two songs per dollar means I never run out.
Questions, answered
Getting started & account
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in page tap Forgot password? and enter your email. We send a reset link to that inbox (from admin@zikup.net) — click it and choose a new password. The link expires in 30 minutes and works once. For your safety, resetting your password signs you out of every device.
What is two-factor authentication (2FA) and how do I set it up?
2FA adds a second check when you sign in: after your password, you enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Ente Auth, Authy…). It keeps your account safe even if your password is stolen. To turn it on: Profile → Two-factor authentication → scan or paste the code into your authenticator app → confirm with a code. After that, sign-in asks for a fresh 6-digit code each time. You can disable it anytime in the same place.
How do I create an account?
Creating an account needs no credit card. We email you a verification code from admin@zikup.net — enter it and your account is verified. You start with 10 free credits, enough for 2 songs, so your first idea costs nothing to try.
Why do I need to verify my email?
Verification protects your account and helps make sure every creator on Zik'Up is real. When you sign up, we email a code from admin@zikup.net; your account is marked "verified" only once you've entered it. Generating songs also requires a verified email or a verified phone — a small step that keeps the platform safe for everyone.
Can I verify my account with a phone number instead?
Yes. You can verify your account with a phone number rather than an email address, whichever is easier for you. As soon as your email or phone is verified, generation unlocks and your 10 free credits are ready to use.
Can I unlock Zik'Up with Face ID or my fingerprint?
On your phone, yes — you can unlock Zik'Up with Face ID or your fingerprint, with your PIN as a fallback if needed. It's completely optional and easy to switch on or off.
Creating music
What if a generation fails?
It happens rarely — and it's on us. If a song fails to generate, your 5 credits are refunded to your account automatically.
How does My Voice work?
Record a short, clear clip of your voice. Zik'Up creates your personal voice, and then you can generate songs sung by you — pick "My Voice" when creating and choose your voice as the singer.
How do I make a song with Zik'Up?
Type your idea in your own words — a feeling, a scene, a story, a genre. Zik'Up turns it into 3 different lyric options with titles and styles, across 15+ genres, and you choose the one that speaks to you. Confirm it and Zik'Up composes the full song in 2–5 minutes; the finished MP3 appears in your library, ready to stream, download or share.
Can I edit the lyrics before the song is generated?
Absolutely — the lyrics are yours to shape. Before you generate, you can edit any of your 3 lyric options to make the words feel truly personal, then select the version you want. Zik'Up composes the song from the lyrics you chose, exactly as you left them.
Which model should I choose — V4.5, V5 and the others?
Think of models as different strengths of the same engine: V4.5 is great with smart prompts and fast, V4.5+ gives a richer result, V4.5 All brings the best song structure, V5 adds superior expression, and V5.5 powers custom voices like My Voice. There's no wrong choice — try the same idea on different models and keep what you love.
How long does it take to generate a song?
A full song typically takes between 2 and 5 minutes from the moment you confirm your idea and lyrics. Quick enough to keep your creative flow going — and when it's done, the finished MP3 is waiting in your library.
What are Extend and Remix?
They're two ways to keep an idea growing. Extend continues an existing song — more of what you love, another verse, a longer story. Remix reworks it into something new, a different take on the same music. One idea never has to end as a single result.
What is instrumental mode, and what do the advanced controls do?
Instrumental mode generates your song with music only — no vocals — perfect for background tracks, videos and beats. If you like to fine-tune, the advanced sliders let you adjust style weight, creativity and audio consistency, so the result matches your vision even more closely.
Languages & authenticity
Which languages does Zik'Up support?
The app itself is available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic (right-to-left). On top of that, your songs can be generated in the language you choose — including 10 African languages: Hausa, Fulbe, Lingala, Swahili, Wolof, Bambara, Zulu, Igbo, Somali and Yoruba, plus Hindi and Urdu.
Will my song really be sung in the language I choose?
Yes — really sung, not just labeled. Pick a song language and Zik'Up writes translated lyrics and directs the voice to sing with a native style, so the result sounds like it belongs to that language. When you choose a non-English language, Zik'Up also offers the matching style — like "Hausa Style" — which guides the vocal even further. Your songs can be sung in any of 10 African languages, plus Hindi and Urdu, and French, Spanish, Arabic and English.
Why does Zik'Up say "Fulbe"?
Because it's the name the community uses for itself and its language — and the official spelling we use across Zik'Up. When you choose this language, your song's lyrics and vocal style follow that tradition. Fulbe is one of the 10 African languages you can create in.
Can I use Zik'Up in Arabic — and will it display correctly?
Yes. The interface is available in Arabic, English, French and Spanish, and Zik'Up picks the language for you based on where you are. Arabic renders right-to-left, exactly as it should. And Arabic is also one of the languages your songs can be sung in — your music, your language, end to end.
Songs, files & playlists
Who owns the songs I make?
You do. Songs you generate are saved to your library — stream them, download them, share them, and use them in your own projects.
Can I use my songs commercially?
Yes — your songs are yours, including for your own videos, content and projects.
How do I download my songs?
Open the song you want, open the share menu and choose Download — the MP3 is saved straight to your device's Downloads folder. It works the same on the web and on mobile, so the songs you love are always yours to keep.
Where are my songs stored — and do they follow me across devices?
Every song you create lands in Your Library, which stays in sync across web and mobile — start a song on your phone, find it on your computer. You can also group your favorites into Your Playlists: create, edit or delete them, and enjoy sequential playback whenever you listen.
Why did one of my songs disappear?
Zik'Up keeps your songs available for 365 days by default; the retention period can be set anywhere from 30 to 365 days. Once a song passes that time, it is removed and disappears from libraries and feeds. The easy safeguard: download any song you treasure from the share menu — your MP3 copy never disappears.
Sharing & social
How do I share a song with friends?
Open any song and use the share menu — WhatsApp, SMS, email or a copyable link — to send your music in one tap. When a friend shares a song with you, you can claim it into your own library, so the songs you love are never far away.
What are Best Hits, likes and ratings?
Best Hits is the community-ranked home of Zik'Up's standout songs. Like and rate the tracks that move you — and as others discover your music, your own songs can climb the ranking. That's where great songs get found.
Can I listen to music before I create an account?
On mobile, yes — before you even sign in, you can explore a feed of songs: vertical image cards, with songs you can swipe through horizontally. Every track there is shared with the creator's consent and labeled "Made with Zik'Up AI", so you always know what you're listening to. On the web, the landing page opens with the Best Hits.
Payments, credits & gifts
How do credits work?
Every song costs 5 credits. You get 10 credits free when you sign up — that's 2 free songs. Buy more anytime: 10 credits for $1, 50 for $5, 110 for $10, 250 for $20, or 600 for $50. Credits don't expire.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cards (Stripe), PayPal, PayStack and Flutterwave. With PayStack and Flutterwave you pay in your local currency — approximate amounts in NGN, GHS and ZAR are shown at checkout.
How do I gift credits?
Open the song or the Credits page → Gift credits → enter a friend's email and the amount → send. The credits move to their account instantly (both accounts must be verified). Gifts are limited to a sensible daily amount to keep things fair and prevent abuse.
Which credit pack should I choose?
Every song costs 5 credits, so the choice is simple: 10 credits for $1 (2 songs), 50 for $5 (10 songs), 110 for $10 (22 songs), 250 for $20 (50 songs), or 600 for $50 (120 songs). Start with your 10 free credits — 2 songs on us — and top up whenever the ideas keep coming.
Do I need a credit card to use Zik'Up?
No — no card required. You can sign up and use your 10 free credits (2 songs) without ever entering a card. When you want more credits, you decide then whether and how to pay. Creating music stays open to everyone.
Security & privacy
Is my voice private when I use My Voice?
Yes — My Voice creates your AI voice from the short clip you record, and it's yours only: built from your voice and used to sing your songs (models V5 and V5.5). We also ask you to keep recordings respectful — you're responsible for the voices you create.
How does Zik'Up keep my information safe?
We build security in quietly. Verification emails come from Zik'Up's own mail service, and the codes they carry are never stored or logged — they exist for one check and nothing more. With two-factor authentication, codes are generated on your device and never leave it.
Why did Zik'Up sign me out?
That's security doing its job. Sessions close when you log out or after 30 minutes in the background on your phone, and a closed session can never be replayed or reused. Just sign back in — your songs and credits are exactly where you left them.
Support & devices
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — Zik'Up is on iOS and Android, and it works in your browser too. Your library and credits follow you on every device.
What format are my songs in?
Every song you generate comes as an MP3 — the most universal music format, ready to play anywhere and easy to share. Download it from the share menu whenever you want the file on your device.
How do I get help or share feedback?
We'd love to hear from you. The Contact page on our website is the best way to reach us — questions, ideas, or the song you're proudest of. Tell us what you'd love to create next: that's how Zik'Up grows.
